TERMS + CONDITIONS
PICKUP AND RETURN
Jeeps are available for pickup by appointment 7 days a week.
Pickup:

No hours of operation for us! We offer free delivery and pick up to the Kona Airport and anywhere in the Kona area. Yes, that means no more waiting in long rental car lines just to receive your overpriced run of the mill vehicle.

We offer contactless pickup if you'd prefer and will drop you a pin of the exact location of the Jeep with some intro videos to watch before heading out on adventures.

We sanitize the vehicle using our UV light and perform a multipoint inspection between each trip so you can be sure your ride has been knowledgeably serviced and maintained safely and properly by professionals.

Our Loaded Cooler: We can load your cooler with refreshments and some local Hawaiian snacks so you can pull right up to a beach and start your vacay off on the right foot (or tires we should say haha). $75 + cost of goodies.

Our Romantic Picnic Pack: You get in on the red eye? Not a problem; we will be there! Most restaurants close early here so if you arrive late and want to guarantee you have a nice hot dinner after your long flight, we got you handled! Our picnic pack includes: Picnic basket loaded with a hot dinner from a local restaurant of your choice, plates, napkins, silverware, battery operated candles, blanket, collapsible table, and drinks. Comes with suggested beach locations near the airport to enjoy your picnic dinner before heading to your hotel! $85 + cost of grinds.

Please make sure everything you rented is still in the jeep and not accidentally packed in your suitcase including the guide books and gear.

Remember you get to keep your beach bag and Honi Honi album!

Park at our agreed upon location and text us where you left it.

If a Traventure Rides employee is not there upon return, take eight photos of the Jeep (one from each side, roof, inside front seats, inside back seats, inside back with tailgate open) and email/text it to Traventure Rides for confirmation of vehicle condition.

THOSE DANG FEES
To keep your experience at a maximum, we keep the fees to a minimum:
- 4.712% Hawaii State GE Tax
- $5 Per Day Hawaii Rental Car Surcharge

All rental charges are due upon booking
Payments must be paid in U.S. Dollars.
RESERVATION DEPOSIT
A $500 reservation deposit is due at time of booking and is applied towards the total rental price. No additional deposit or fee is taken.
CANCELLATIONS
If the trip is cancelled at any time, the deposit is non refundable. If the trip is cancelled more than 24 hours prior to the scheduled delivery of the Jeep, the deposit will be forfeited but the remaining paid rental portion will be refunded. If the trip is cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled delivery of the Jeep, the full rental portion is non refundable.
No refunds are given for early returns after acceptance of the Jeep. No refunds given for late pick up or failure to pick up the Jeep at the scheduled time.
DRIVER'S LICENSE
All drivers must possess a driver's license valid for the entire rental period and a major credit card. International tourists must provide an international driver permit and valid passport with US purchased rental car insurance. The only people allowed to drive the Jeep are those listed on the contract. All drivers and their drivers’ licenses must be present at time of Jeep pick up. We do not charge for additional drivers.
LIABILITIES + POLICIES
The Renter is responsible for all damage, towing charges, or losses caused to themselves, their property, the Vehicle Rental and third parties regardless of fault. Renter is solely responsible for any and all parking tickets, citations, and other charges issued during Renter's contractual possession of the rental.
Smoking is not allowed inside of the Jeeps.
Evidence of smoking is subject to a minimum $200 charge.
No pets are allowed inside of the Jeeps.
Evidence of pets is subject to an additional $200 cleaning fee.
If renter would like to extend the rental period please contact Traventure Rides for availability.
No shows forfeit their reservation deposit and full rental amount.
Insurance: All drivers must carry proof of insurance upon pick up of Jeep.
Renter is responsible for all of the rented gear and Jeep keys. Renter is responsible to replace it if lost, stolen, or broken. Products in Traventure Packs may vary in types, colors, and sizes.
Fuel Policy: Your Jeep will have a full tank of gas upon pickup. Please return the Jeep with a full tank of gas. Failure to fill the tank within one gallon of full will result in a fuel charge to fill tank + $25 fee.

RESTRICTED LOCATIONS
*The three below locations are not covered by insurance companies and are restricted:

Makalawena Beach. This is extremely rough terrain with boulders and jagged rocks which will eat up the tires. You are allowed to off road drive in to Mahai’ula Beach (south end of Makalawena) and walk in.

Green Sands: This area is rocky and extremely dusty and will get into the ventilation system. If you'd like to go, you can park in the lot. There are locals who shuttle people in and out. You can also hike in (2 miles).

Waipio Valley: The lookout at the top of the valley is easily accessible but the steep narrow road down into the valley is prohibited with the rental vehicle. The road is only wide enough for one vehicle so often times you have to reverse down or up which is very dangerous. Numerous have fallen off the side of the cliff. Insurance companies do not cover damage that occurs in the valley. There is also no cell reception and no towing capability if it were to get stuck in the deep water in the valley. Most of the valley is private land so you only have access to the beach. However, there are a lot of tours that go into the valley and have authorization to go onto the private lands. We'd highly recommend the tours because you get to see waterfalls and so much more than just the beach at the front of the valley. Our favorite is Waipio on Horseback. Another great tour is the Waipio ATV tour. Some people also choose to walk the road down into the valley.
All drivers must carry proof of their own insurance upon pick up of the Jeep.
The Renter certifies that they have a valid driver’s license and a personal auto insurance policy with coverage of a rental vehicle. The renter certifies that their policy has collision, comprehensive, and third party liability coverage.
A full coverage policy on your personal vehicle typically covers rental cars as well. If not, you can upgrade your personal insurance policy for a specific time period to include your rental or you can purchase a rental vehicle / non owners policy. We recommend: Allianz Travel Insurance OR Car Rental Insurance Options
What happens if you cause damage to the vehicle during the rental period?
Once you pick up the rental, you’re responsible for any damage that occurs during the rental period. Traventure Rides may provide both $1M liability insurance and up to $250,000 comprehensive and collision coverage to protect you during the rental. But this doesn’t cover certain things like interior damage NOT caused in a collision or the adventure gear. (Make sure you are aware of what your insurance covers and what you’re responsible for on the road).
If the minor damage is less than the insurance deductible of $1,500 and your deposit does not cover the full amount, then you as the renter are responsible for the payment and will be charged by Traventure Rides. If the damage is less than the security deposit, Traventure Rides will withhold that portion and return the rest to you. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Traventure Rides.
When you return the Jeep, talk honestly to us about the damage. The Jeep Return Form you fill out with the owner will confirm the condition of the Jeep when you picked it up and when you returned it. Do NOT attempt to fix anything yourself or add any fluids to the vehicle.
